Obituary from Ted Dickey Funeral Home: Frieda Hooten, age 76, passed away on April 2, 2011 at her home in Plano, Texas. She was born on August 5, 1934 in Commerce, Texas to Otis and Mary (Stooksberry) Weems. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, S.R. Hooten; two daughters, Marianna Sokolich and husband Steve, Diana Wright and husband Don; grandchildren, Matthew William Wright, Shelby Rae Sokolich and Sarah Elizabeth Sokolich; siblings, Overta Covin and John Ed Weems; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Winfred Weems, Norma Lee Hardy and JoAnn Keith. Frieda was homemaker for many years until she became the office manager at Taylor Publishing. Frieda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She will be dearly missed by her family. Visitation will be held at Ted Dickey Funeral Home from 7:00-9:00 pm on Tuesday, April 5, 2011. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at 10:30 am at the First Baptist Church, Plano.
