She was born on March 15, 1930 in Lueders, TX. to the late Joseph Earl and Fannie Mae (Petty) Shelley. She graduated from Peacock High School in West, Texas. She was a member of Towash Baptist Church in Whitney. Helen spent most of her life caring for others. She loved her family unconditionally and was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. Preceding her in death were 3 brothers and 1 sister. Survivors include her children, Patrick M. Penrod of Wildomar, CA., Dona A. McNally of Whitney; sisters, Jesse Brawley of Houston, Olga Jones of Whitney; 6 grandchildren: Jennifer Jones, Blade Thompson, Jeffery Penrod, Molly Nyberg, Johathan Penrod, Tessa Penrod; 4 great grandchildren, Lexi, Maddison, Rylee and Lilee.
