Bio

Bessie L. Kelley, age 98 of Marshalltown, Iowa died May 22, 2011 at Grandview Nurshig Home in Marshalltown, IA. Bessie was born August 17, 1912 to John Thomas and Maggie Lena Palmer. Bessie (Palmer) married Richard Commadore Kelley on September 3, 1929. She had been employed as a telephone operator in Van Wert, Iowa. Later Bessie and her husband moved to Marshalltown. Survivors include daughter LaVern McDowell of Marshalltown: three grandsons: Floyd, Kevin, and Brent McDowell: two great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 9 sisters and brothers; and two daughters.
