Bio

Born in Czechoslovakia, immigrated 1904 and naturalized 1909. MIKESKA, Mrs. Frances of Temple. Age 93. Died 9/8/1987 (Tuesday) in Temple. Rosary recited on Wednesday at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple and on Thursday at Condra Funeral Home in Taylor. Funeral Mass held 9/11 (Friday) in St.Mary's Catholic Church in Taylor. Burial in church cemetery. Rev. Lonnie Urban, Msgr. Arthur Michalka and the Rev.----, officiated. Grandsons were pallbearers. She was BORN 3/11/1894 and was a native of Czechoslovakia and came to the U.S. as a child. She had lived in Bastrop most of her life, where she was a member of the Church of Ascension. In Temple, she was a member of St.Mary's Catholic Church, the Altar Society and the KJZT Lodge. All 6 of her sons served in the U.S. Military and are engaged in the barbecue business. SURVIVORS: 3 daughters, Martha Vanecek of El Paso, Annie Jozwiak of Taylor, Val Lindemann of Temple; 6 sons, Rudy of Taylor, John C. "Mike", Louis and Clem of Temple, Jerry of Columbus, Maurice of El Campo; 3 sisters, Mary Sralla of Hutto, Wilma Zgarba of San Angelo, Stacy Knapek of Corn Hill; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.
