Reba Shipman was the best Grandma you could ask for. She grew her own garden and it was quite large and canned food for her family from it. She was an avid quilter and could crochet like there was no tomorrow. She made clothes for us kids. She attended Gum Grove Baptist Church every Sunday and most Wednesdays. We do miss her. I honestly don't know how she found the time to do the things she did all in one day. Her house was always clean as she was always cleaning something. She raised eight of her own children and mostly raised us four kids (George's kids). I am trying to get her oldest son (my dad) transferred to me so that I can link her. I will try to get everything together soon. My grandmothers mother was a Cotton and no, she was not related to Mary Ann Cotton (maybe her husband, but certainly not to Ms. Robson, which was her maiden name.) She has two living daughters: Iva Mae Shipman Kersh Stella Shipman and several living sons. I will add them later. Two sons who have passed: George Henry Shipman Sr. , Leroy Shipman 1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. << Psalm 23 >>
