Bio

Caleb was a son of Rev. Alexander S. and Mary "Polly" (Wright) Gunn, and grandson of James and Ursula (Sweeney) Gunn, who founded this cemetery, and of John and Margaret (Mackey) Wright. Both families were very early settlers in Morgan County. He married Mary A. Richards 26 June 1873 in Morgan County. Their children were: James, who married Georgia Sheppard; Claude; Emma J.; Alexander H.; Nettie A., who married Samuel Jones; Homer M.; Virgil C.; and Harry B. Gunn. Several of the children died very young and are buried here with their father. Caleb's parents and both sets of grandparents, along with many other relatives, are also buried here. Mary Richards Gunn and their son Claude are buried in nearby Murrayville City Cemetery, Murrayville, IL.
