The Banner-Post (David City, Nebr.), November 29, 1990, p. 14B, col. 3 Services conducted for Adolph (Al) Homolka, 69 Services for Adolph (Al) Homolka, 69, of Omaha were held Wednesday, Nov. 21, from Crosby, Burket, Swanson, Golden Chapel with Rev. Douglas Ferguson officiating. Mr. Homolka died at his home on November 19. Joyce Mynster was organist and Henry Wiebe was solosit. Pallbearers were members of American Legion Honor Guard 331. Military graveside services were conducted by American Legion Post 331. Burial was at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Omaha. Adolph August was born near Brainard on September 21, 1921, one of 16 children born to John and Julia Plisek Homolka. He attended grade school in Butler County. He served in World War II for four years in the Aleutian Islands near Alaska. In May of 1946 he was married to Ann Mollack in Omaha. He was past director and president of Paxton Mitchell Employee Credit Union. He was a member of American Legion Color Guard, Post 331, VFW Post 2704, South Omaha Eagles, and 40 Hommes Et 8 Chevoux-Voiture No. 206. In August, 1984, he was united in marriage to Mary P. Tovera in Las Vegas. Survivors include his wife, Mary, of Omaha; two stepdaughters and a step son-in-law, Michelle M. Tovera of Lakeside, Colo., and Joan and Thomas Maltties of Kearney, two stepgrandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Hubert and Catherine Homolka of Papillion and Tony and Elberta Homolka of Hagden Lake, Idaho; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary Hromas of Wahoo and Lucille and Darwin Nordmeyer of Omaha. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ann, his parents, nine brothers and two sisters.
