The Banner-Press (David City, Nebr.), July 7, 1978, p. 9, col. 6 Services Held In Omaha March 7 For George Homolka, 64 George Homolka, 64, of Omaha, died Saturday, March 4, in the Bishop Clarkson Hospital where he was a patient for five weeks. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 7, from Dworak Mortuary in Omaha, with Father Tuma officiating. Pallbearers were Darwin Nordmeyer, James Prchal, Robert Allen, Adolph Leu, Rudolph Fencl and Robert Janda. Burial was at Hillcrest and Westlawn Cemetery. George Adolph Homolka, the son of John and Juliana Plisek Homolka, was born Feb. 1, 1914, in Butler County. On Aug. 28, 1937, he was united in marriage to Christina Prchal of Bruno. One son was born to this union. They made their home in Bruno until 1942 when they moved to Omaha, where he was employed by Paxton and Mitchell for over 20 years. He was also employed at St. Joseph’s Hospital. His wife died April 5, 1965. On Oct. 24, 1969, he was married to Mary Etta Buire of Omaha. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Maynard and Judy Homolka, and four grandchildren, all of Ralston; four brothers, John and Adolph of Omaha, Hubert of Papillion and Anton of Idaho; and two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Mary) Hromas of Valparaiso and Mrs. Darwin (Lucille) Nordmeyer of Omaha. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Rudolph, James and Joe Homolka, the latter dying Dec. 15, 1977. Coming from a distance to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Anton Homolka of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
