Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Faith Westwood United Methodist Church in Omaha. Burial will be at the Correctionville (Iowa) Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday at the John A. Gentleman Mortuaries Pacific Street Chapel in Omaha. Mary was born April 19, 1932, in Anthon, Iowa, to George and Rose (Bennett) Patterson. Survivors include her daughters, Joanie (Mrs. Roy) Gehrt, and Michelle Tovrea; grandchildren, Laura (Mrs. Jake) Hansen, Sarah Matthies, Orion (wife Laura)Matthies, Brandon Tovrea, K.C. (wife Amanda) Gehrt, Randy (wife Kara) Gehrt; six great-grandchildren; longtime companion, Emil Karasek; and nieces and nephews. She retired from Cooperative Mutual Insurance Co. after 33 years. She was a member of Faith Westwood United Methodist Church and was an auxiliary member of American Legion Post 331 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2704, a lifetime member of DAV Chapter 2, past secretary of the Nebraska Fire and Casualty Underwriters Association, and a member and past president of La Societe de Femme Cabane 206. In addition to her husband, Adolph Homolka, she was preceded in death by her parents of Anthon; brother, Wayne; sister, Margaret Scharnweber; nephew, Robert Patterson; niece, Carol; and former husband, Calvin Tovrea.
