Bio

Funeral services for James E. "Jim" Evans, 49, were at 2 p.m. today at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. The Rev. Warren Perkins officiated at the rites. Burial was in the church cemetery, McConnell-Service directing. Mr. Evans died Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at the Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was a resident of Athens Rt. 8. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Edna Evans; two sons, Archie and James, Athens; three brothers, Nelson, Charlie and Prince Evans, Athens Rt. 6; two sisters, Mrs. Edward M. (Trudie) Lamar and Mrs. Denson J. (Alice) Freeman, Athens Rt. 6; and two grandchildren.
