Published in The Athens News Courier, Athens, AL, Thursday, Aug. 30, 1979 Funeral services for Charles Wesley Evans, 75, of Athens Rt. 6, will be held today at 2 p.m. at the Cherry Grove Baptist Church. Rev. W.V. McDouglas and Rev. Jessie Littrell will officiate and Spry Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Evans, who passed away on Tuesday at the Athens Convalescent Center, will be buried in Evans Cemetery. He is survived by three sons, Tommy Evans of Gallatin, Tenn., Bobby Evans of Ardmore, and Charles Evans of Athens, one stepdaughter, Mrs. Helen Gaston of Athens, two stepsons, Gene Brown of Moulton and William Brown of Athens; 4 grandchildren, 16 stepgrandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Alice Freeman of Athens, and one brother, Prince Evans of Athens.
