Bio

Mary Louise Schiller Stacy, age 100, passed peacefully on October 22, 2020 due to the dreaded disease of Dementia. She was born November 17, 1919. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Alerice Stacy, Sr, son William O’Neil Stacy and her three brothers Adolph, Simon, and Charlie Schiller. Mary is survived by her children, Oscar Alerice Stacy, Jr and his wife Peggy, Marilyn Stacy Smith, Carolyn Stacy Hicks and her husband Perry Hicks. Grandchildren, Tim Stacy, Jim Stacy, Steve Stacy, Debbie Stacy Rutledge, Shane Stacy, Scott Zuehlke, Stacy Zuehlke Piper, Jennifer Hicks Mock and Scooter Hicks. Mary was blessed with 19 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. She grew up in Rosenberg, Texas and graduated from Rosenberg High School. After moving to Houston, she met and married the love of her life, Oscar Alerice Stacy on November 30, 1938. They were married for 58 years. Mary worked as a salesclerk and manager and retired from F. W. Woolworth after 17 years. Mary and Oscar retired to their farm in LaGrange, TX. As Oscar’s health deteriorated, they moved back to Houston in 1991. She lived in her home until she was the age of 98. After moving back to Houston, Mary became a member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church. The family will receive guests on Thursday, October 29, 2020, 10:00 a.m. at Forest Park Lawndale located at 6900 Lawndale St. Houston, TX 77023. Her celebration of life service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Masks will be required at the funeral service. Honorary Pallbearers will include Art Zuehlke and Mike Zientek. Pallbearers will be Scott Zuehlke, Scooter Hicks and Jim Stacy. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to either St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, 10135 West Rd, Houston, TX 77064 or the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17.
