JOHNNIE FRANKLIN PELLEY, 91, of Marlow, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2007 in Chickasha. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Denton Baptist Church, with Rev. Joe Price and Rev. Jerry Couch officiating. Burial will be in the Marlow Cemetery under direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow. Johnnie was born May 18, 1916, in Sherman, Texas, to John William Pelley and Ora Francis Trusty Pelley. Johnnie attended school in Boswell, Okla., and moved to Marlow in 1929. He married Dovie Mae Loyd on August 24, 1936 in Rush Springs. They later moved to west Texas, where he farmed. In 1942, they returned to Marlow and he retired as a farmer after many years. He enjoyed farming, raising cattle and working on tractors and cars. He loved music and being around his family. He was a member of the Gobbler's Lodge of Eakley, Okla., and the Denton Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Dovie Pelley of the home; a son, Shorty Pelley and wife Ruth of Marlow; two daughters, Ora Mae Hampton and husband David of Marlow, and Eula Faye Bratcher and husband John of Chandler, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; five great-great- grandchildren; a sister, Ruby Loyd of Rush Springs; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Chester Lonnie Pelley and Johnnie Wayne Pelley; two grandsons, Kevin Hampton and Jerry Wayne Pelley; two brothers, Robert Pelley and Ray Pelley; and a sister, Lucille Norton.
