ANNA LUCILLE NORTON, 83, of Rush Springs, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2006 in Marlow. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 21, 2006, at the Vimy Ridge Baptist Church in Rush Springs, with David Hale officiating. Burial will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery, under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs, Oklahoma. Lucille was born Monday, May 28, 1923 in Boswell, Oklahoma, to the late J.W. and the late Ora (Trusty)Pelley. She was raised in Rush Springs. She married Harold Norton on November 7, 1938 in Lubbock, Texas, and they moved to California. Harold and Lucille returned to Rush Springs, where they raised their family and took up farming and ranching. Harold passed away Oct. 1, 1996. Lucille enjoyed traveling and crocheting. She was a member of the Southern Baptist Church in Rush Springs. Survivors include a son, Jim Harold Norton and wife Liz of Rush Springs; a daughter, Barbara Gail Smelley of Rush Springs; five grandchildren, Jackie and Jimmy McAdoo of Rush Springs, Cody and Scotty Brewer of Marlow, Jay and Mary Smelley of Fresno, Calif., Deke and Donna Norton of Duncan, Paul and Kenna Roberts of Marlow; a brother, John Pelley of Marlow; a sister, Ruby Loyd of Rush Springs; an uncle, Jim Bob Trusty of Marlow; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers, Robert Pelley and Ray Pelley; and a son-in-law, Pete Smelley. Pallbearers will be Deke Norton, Jay Smelley, Jimmy McAdoo, Scotty Brewer, Paul Roberts, Cody Brewer, Zach Brewer and Dustin Roberts.
