Bessie Rose Herbruck, 71, passed away May 18, 2003. Born in Abbott, Texas, she had been an Akron resident since 1954. She was a member of the Wedgewood United Methodist Church, and was a volunteer at Edwin Shaw. Preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Rose Marek, she is survived by her husband of 51 years, Edward; sons, David J. (Deborah) and James M. (Bethia); daughters, Betty E. (Robert) Heft and Carol A. Mascio; 11 grandchil dren; brothers, Marvin (Evelyn) Marek and Billy (Helen) Marek, both of Austin, Texas; sister, Annie Iverson, of Madaryville, Ind.; and many other loving relatives and friends. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2003, at 10 a.m., at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Rev. Karen Hartley officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
