Billy Weldon Clearman, 82, of McGregor, passed away Oct. 4, 2007, in McGregor. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at Osage Cemetery under the direction of Cole Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday evening at Cole Funeral Home, 1113 West Fifth Street in McGregor. Billy was born in Osage, Texas, to the late A. J. "Jake" and Cora (Clemons) Clearman. He graduated from Oglesby High School. Following his graduation he served his country in the United States Army, mostly in the European Theater from 1943 to 1945. After his service, he was employed by Hercules in McGregor for 20 years and finished his working career as a mobile home salesman. He loved fishing, hunting, playing golf, reading, eating ice cream and various family activities. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marie Clearman, of McGregor; daughter, Cindy Clearman and Will Chappell, of Morgan's Point; son, Larry Clearman and Nova and Hillary Carter, of Oglesby; grandchildren, Melanie McNamara and husband, Steve, of Temple, Joshua Clearman and wife, Lisa, of Key West, Fla., and Matthew Clearman, of Waco; great-grandchildren, Halie and Hanna McNamara; sister, Mary Lou Lella, of McGregor; and brother, Jack Clearman, of McGregor.
