Bio

Mary Michalek, 80, passed away peacefully on the evening of November 26, 2003. She was born on January 1, 1923 in Jarrell, Texas to Angeline Karkoska Klepac and Frank Klepac. She was a member of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church in Austin. Mom was a woman of great faith and devotion. She was generous and loving, especially enjoying her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by her family, which includes Chewy and Tuffy, her grand-Bichons. Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe Michalek; her parents, four brothers and one sister. She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Jane Kokernot of Austin, Texas; Mary Ann Blakely and husband Robert of Austin, Texas; and Barbara Pokorny and husband Harry of Austin, Texas; four grandchildren: Amy and husband Jeff, J. J., Bobby and Heather; two great-grandchildren; Madolyn and Koke Levi and three of her eight siblings: Agnes Vanecek of Sinton, Texas; Bernice Pokorny and husband Paul of Taylor, Texas and Norbert Klepac and wife Helen of Lewisville, Texas. Serving as pallbearers are Robert Klepac, William Klepac, David Mikulencak, George Knapek, Raymond Michalek, and Johnny Klepac. Honorary pallbearers are J. J. Kokernot, Bobby Blakely and Jeff Dolce. There will be a Rosary service held at the Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, Texas on Friday, November 28, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at SS Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Granger, Texas at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2003. She will be buried at Holy Cross Cemetery in Granger following the Mass. We would like to thank Dr. Michael Schindel and the staff of North Austin Medical Center, Cornerstone Rehabilitation Hospital and Park Bend Health Center for their gentle and caring treatment of our mother.
