Bio

Alfonse Robert Klepac, 84, passed away peacefully on the morning of February 9, 2003. There will be a Rosary service held at the Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, TX, on Thursday, February 13, 2003, at 7:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Taylor at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 14, 2003. He will be buried at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Taylor following the Mass. He was a stroke survivor and battled with diabetes for over six years. He was born on June 5, 1918, in Jarrell, Texas, to Angeline Karkoska Klepac and Frank Klepac. He served five years in the U.S. Army as a veterinarian technician overseas in China, Burma, and India, during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 83, and a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Austin, TX. He was a loving husband and father, and he loved telling stories about his childhood days growing up on the farm and his military service overseas. He took pride in his vegetable garden, and was an animal lover at heart. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, three brothers, and one sister. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Lillian Jansky Klepac, of Austin, TX; six children, Robert Klepac and wife Julia of McKinney, TX; Tom Klepac and wife Sara of Kenner, LA; Bill Klepac and wife Teresa of Austin, TX; Alice Klepac of Pflugerville, TX; Rose Klepac Prestridge and husband Paul of Pflugerville, TX; and James Klepac and wife Beverly of College Station, TX; ten grandchildren, Bradley, Michael Wayne, Kelly, Laurie, T.J., Allan, Matt, Stephanie, Brandon, and Kaylinn; five great-grandchildren; and four of his eight siblings, Agnes Vanecek of Sinton, TX; Bernice Pokorny and husband Paul of Taylor, TX; Mary Michalek of Austin, TX; and Norbert Klepac and wife Helen of Lewisville, TX. Serving as pallbearers will be his five grandsons, Bradley Klepac, Allan Klepac, Matt Klepac, T.J. Klepac, Brandon Klepac; and his godson Donald Jansky.
