Bio
Clara L. Mikulencak, 87, of Taylor died Monday, December 19, 2005 at Johns Community Hospital in Taylor. Celebration of Life Services will be 2:30 PM, Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at Providence Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Tietz officiating. Burial will follow at Taylor City Cemetery. Clara Lena Merkord Mikulencak was born on February 23, 1918 in Williamson County, Texas to Louis and Ida (Walther) Merkord. She was married to Edmond J. Mikulencak and this marriage was blessed with two children. Clara was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Taylor. She worked at Gellman's Department Store here in Taylor and spent the rest of her time as a house wife and mother. Clara loved scrap booking and has lovingly documented her family history for several generations. She loved her yard work, sewing and raising her African Violets which you will still see at her house today. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Edmond in 1983; an infant son, Edmond Mikulencak, Jr.; 1 sister; 5 brothers; and a grandson and his wife, Jerry R. Vrabel, Jr. and Nancy K. Vrabel. Clara is survived by her daughter, Janice Vrabel and husband Jerry of Granger; grandchildren, Jimmie R. Vrabel of Granger, John R. Vrabel and wife, Pam of Pflugerville; 5 great grandchildren, Jimmie Vrabel, Jr., Jennie Vrabel, Amber Vrabel, Rachel Vrabel, and Sarah Vrabel; sisters and brothers, Martha Kokes, Lina Finn, Mary Lee Chalupa, Robert Merkord, and Evelyn Wilhelm. Pallbearers will be Allen Merkord, Randy Merkord, John Vrabel, Jimmie Vrabel, Eugene Kokes and Marvin Kokes. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmie Vrabel, Jr., Jeffrey Merkord, Michael Doerfler, Norman Stauffer, and Walter Allen.
