Fort Bend Herald, August 22, 2020: Helen Agnes Syzdek, 81, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2020, in Richmond. She was born March 1, 1939 in Damon to Louis and Mary Prihoda. Helen was a devoted Catholic that attended Mass all her life until Covid prevented her from doing so. She was a member of SPJST, KJZT, and was a cook for the Richmond State School until retirement. Among Helen's favorite this were her children, her grandchildren, cooking, gardening, red roses, dancing, Bingo, Church Bazaars, and McDonald's sweet tea. Survivors include 7 children, Ben Sopchak, Helen Ann Luchak and husband, Michael, Teresa Caudle and husband, Keith, Marvin Sopchak and wife, Pam, George Sopchak and wife, Amanda, Betty Hall and husband, Stewart, Donna McDonald and husband, J.W.; sister, Emma Horky; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; along with a host of other loving family members and friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August, 27, 2020, at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Davis Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg, with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 4-8 P.M. in the chapel at Davis Greenlawn Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M.
