Bio

Herald Coaster, February 24, 2003: A funeral mass for Frances Prihoda Sykowski, 69, of Guy will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24, 2003 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Needville. Father James Ramsey will officiate the services. Interment will follow at West Gethsemane Cemetery in Rosenberg. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003 with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m. at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel, 3900 B.F. Terry Blvd., FM 2218 at Highway 59 in Rosenberg. Frances was born Dec. 29, 1933 in Damon to Louis and Mary (Dirba) Prihoda, and she passed away Feb. 21, 2003 in Richmond. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and a member of the K.J.Z.T. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Mary Prihoda; and a brother, Rudolph Prihoda Sr. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Vincent R. Sykowski of Guy; her children, Vincent Joe Sykowski of Houston, Andrew Sykowski of Guy and Agnes Ricks and her husband, Greg, of College Station; her grandchildren, Leslie and Jeff McWhorter of Dallas, Jerome Ricks of College Station and Monica Ricks of College Station; her brothers, Louis Prihoda, Albert Prihoda and Robert Prihoda, all of Damon; her sisters, Mary Zapalac of Damon, Helen Syzdek of Damon, Emma Horky of Angleton, Lillie Zapalac of Angleton and Leona Zapalac of Angleton. For those wishing, the family requests memorials be made to the St. Michael's Building Fund.
