Bio

Sarah Siple was the wife of Thaddeus Sobieski Cady. They were married November 26 1839 in Ferrisburg, Addison Co, VT. They lived in Chittenden Co VT until about 1850 when they are found living in Roscoe Il. They then moved to Kalamazoo and Cass Counties in MI. The ended up in Gonzales Co TX. they raised 6 children: Electa Eliza, Samuel Edson, Lafayette Tubbs, Frank Elizur, William Henry, and Phoebe Ann. The obituary for Sarah Siple Cady in The Daily Inquirer reads: "DIED. At the home of her daughter, Mrs. George CARPENTER, in Gonzales, Texas, on Monday, September 4, 1899, at 6:15 o'clock p.m. Mrs. Sarah CADY, aged 80 years. The funeral procession will moved from the residence at 5 o'clock this evening to the Public cemetery where the interment will take place. The friends and acquaintances of the family are invited to attend. Mrs. CADY has been confined to her bed since June. She united with the Methodist church when she was 13 years of age and has lived a consistent Christian life. Many friends sympathize with the family in their bereavement. "
