Bio

Edward Simon Petrosky (Simon), age 85, passed away in Columbus, Texas on April 4, 2020. He was born to Walter and Vlasta (Marek) Petrosky on September 29, 1934 in Van Vleck, Texas. He married Martha A. Tuttle on June 28, 1958. After graduating from Columbus High School in 1954, Simon served in the United States Air Force from 1954-1976, retiring with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant and the title of Supervisor of Avionics Maintenance. During his military career Simon was stationed in the Philippines, The Netherlands and France. He served in Vietnam from 1965-1966. His various tours of duty include Germany, Spain, Libya, Thailand and Hawaii. He was also stationed on various bases in the United States including Offutt Air Force Base in Strategic Air Command in Omaha, Nebraska, George Air Force Base in California, Mather Air Force Base in California, McClellan Air Force in California and Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico. After his retirement and while living in New Mexico, Simon refurbished houses. In 1992, he and Martha moved to Eddy, Texas. He enjoyed raising chickens and guineas, hatching eggs and raising them from chicks, and loved to garden in his spare time. Simon was preceded in death by: his parents, Walter and Vlasta Petrosky; wife Martha A. (Tuttle) Petrosky; sisters, Eleanor Sladecek, Lillian Sladecek and Dorothy Mulvey; brothers, Lee Petrosky, Albert Petrosky and Walter Petrosky; in-laws, Leonard & Eunice Tuttle. Simon is survived by: daughter, Beth Ann Petrosky of Temple, Texas; brother, Leonard Petrosky and wife Shirley of Saint Peters, Missouri; and sister-in-law, Shirley (Girndt) Petrosky of Columbus, Texas; brother-in-law Phil Mulvey; nephews Gregory Petrosky and his wife Debbie and their daughter Simone Belota and her husband Matthew and their children Felicity, Theodore, and Theron, Dennis Petrosky and his wife Rhonda and their sons Reed and his wife Emily and Sean, and James Petrosky and his wife Starlette; a niece and three nephews in Newell, Iowa; three nieces and one nephew in Saint Peters, Missouri as well as a host of other nieces and nephews. Simon loved his family and dear friends very much and each was special to him. A private graveside will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery with Fr. Wayne Flagg officiating. Memorials may be given to your charity of choice.
