It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruby N. Doherty Cooper (Flower Mound, Texas), born in Ennis, Texas, who passed away on January 1, 2020, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Homer Lee Doherty and Laura Bell Wilhoite Doherty; and her brother Donald. She is survived by: her husband Charles E. Cooper; her children, Laura Jordan (Chad), Jeff Cooper (Lynn) and Charles E. Cooper, Jr. (Lisa); her brothers, Homer Doherty (Joni) and Jimmy Doherty (JoAnn); her sister-in-law Sharon Doherty; her grandchildren, Charlie, Katelyn, Jacob, Collyn and Blake; and her great flower mound, texasgrandchildren, Trinity and Jackson. Doherty Cooper, 75, of Flower Mound, formerly a resident of Irving for over 48 years, died suddenly, Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at her home. Born September 11, 1944 in Ennis, Texas, she is the daughter of the late Homer Lee Doherty and Laura Bell Wilhoite Doherty. She grew up and graduated from high school in Ennis and lived there for twenty-six years before moving to Irving. She attended college at Navarro, Texas. On January 15, 1965 she married Charles E. Cooper in Ennis. An analyst assistant in bookkeeping, she loved most being at home with her husband and near family. She was Baptist. Formerly a member at MacArthur Blvd. Baptist Church, she and Charles attended Rock Pointe Church in Flower Mound. They moved to The Overture, an over 55 senior living apartment complex in Flower Mound two years ago and have very much enjoyed being active in that community. Preceded in death by her parents and a brother Donald, she is survived by her husband Charles of Flower Mound; her children, Laura Jordan and husband Chad, Jeff Cooper and wife Lynn, and Charles E. Cooper, Jr. and wife Lisa; two brothers, Homer Doherty and wife Joni and Jimmy Doherty and wife JoAnn; sister in law, Sharon Doherty; five grandchildren, Charlie, Katelyn, Jacob, Collyn, and Blake; two great grandchildren, Trinity and Jackson; several nieces nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends 11:00 a.m. until Noon Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Donnellys Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. The funeral will be at Noon in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway in Dallas.
