MARCELLA FURASEK VALPARAISO - Marcella A. Furasek, 68, of Valparaiso died Thursday, September 25, 1997, at Bryan Memorial Hospital in Lincoln. Mrs. Furasek was born April 5, 1929, at Dwight to Frank and Anne (Bartek) Matulka. She attended Assumption High School in Dwight. She married Frank E. Furasek in Dwight on June 28, 1948. They lived in rural Weston until 1961 when they moved to rural Valparaiso. She was a member of St. Vitus Catholic Church of Touhy, the Altar Society, and past president of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 371 of Valparaiso. Survivors include her husband, one son, Steve Furasek of Seward, one daughter, Debbie Furasek of Valparaiso, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe and Ann Matulka and Alois and Millie Matulka, all of David City, two sisters, Katherine Kliment of Valparaiso and Agnes Bohuslavsky of Brainard and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Antoinette Fiedler and two brothers, Sylvester and Frank Matulka.
