85 year old Fairfield resident, Joseph Eikenhorst passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 30, 2019 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. Joseph was born May 1, 1934 to William and Verna (Hromas) Eikenhorst in Beaver Crossing, Nebraska. He was first married to Verna Neajahr on June 27, 1954 and she passed away on February 11, 2011. He married Connie Williams on November 26, 2014 in Fairfield, and she passed away on November 30, 2018. Joseph retired as a supervisor from Roadmaster in Olney. He was a member of Victory Outreach Christian Center Church in Fairfield. He loved to dance and could be found at many area country dances on weekends. He is survived by one son, Jeffrey (Melissa) Eikenhorst of Fairfield and one step-son, Marlin (Elaine) Short of Browns, two daughters, Connie (Terry) Smith of Fairfield and Lori Eikenhorst of Oregon, one step-daughter, Janet (Tom) Heeg of Evansville, Indiana. One brother, Dean Eikenhorst of Kilgore, Texas and one sister, Margaret Ann Oswald of Lincoln, Nebraska; 21 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild also survive. Preceding Joseph in death were his parents, his wives, a daughter Vickie Kufeldt, one son Michael Eikenhorst, a brother, Robert Eikenhorst and one great grandchild.
