Clent Dedek, 84, of Edmond, Oklahoma, died at home, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, July 2, 2019. Clent was born on April 2, 1935, in Love County, Oklahoma to the late Steve and Doris (Sanders) Dedek. Clent graduated from Thackerville High School in 1953, and in 1960 graduated from the 16th Oklahoma Highway Patrol Academy. He served as a Love County Deputy Sheriff, Edmond Police Chief, Commissioner of the Department of Public Safety, and chief Investigator for Oklahoma County DA, Bob Macy. Clent had a lifelong love of horses and dogs. He married the love of his life, Joyce (Comer) Dedek, May 25, 1956. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and three brothers. He was survived by his wife; daughter; Sandy Dedek Owen and husband Tim of Edmond; three sisters; two brothers; granddaughter, Tiff Gravel and husband Abraham Anun of Kampala, Uganda, Africa; great-granddaughter, Grey Anun; and a host of other friends and relatives. It was Clent's wish that there would be no services, and please, no flowers. His beautiful smile would be missed by all that knew and loved him. He will live on forever in their hearts and memories.
