Bio
Bill Sladek, 75, died Saturday, June 19, 2004, in Dumas. Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ken Metzger, retired Methodist minister of Lubbock, and the Rev. Glen Weinette, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Stratford Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Sladek was born Sept. 21, 1928, in Taylor. He had been a Stratford resident since 1967. Survivors include his wife, Janice; three sons, Rex Sladek and Blake Sladek, both of Stratford, and Craig of Xenia, Ohio; a daughter, Belinda Sawyer of San Angelo; 10 grandchildren; and a brother, Jim Sladek of Royse City. The family suggests memorials be to Campus Crusade for Christ, P.O. Box 28222, Orlando, FL 32862-8222; or Feed the Children Medical Team, P.O. Box 36, Oklahoma City, OK 73101.
