Blakely Funeral Home and Crematory obituary Inman, S.C. - Nema Kathryn Ferrier Holmes, 96, formerly of 320 Wittenburg Way, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at National Healthcare Greenville, S.C. Born in Edna, Kansas, she was the widow of the late Dr. Fred Holmes, Jr. and daughter of the late Charles Walter Ferrier and Eva Steine Ferrier. She was a retired Missionary and homemaker, the co-founder of Mimi’s Uptown Restaurant and Holmes Catering and a member of Cleveland Park Bible Church. Surviving are six sons, Fred Holmes, III of Concordia, Ks., John Lance Holmes and wife, Sylvia of Travelers Rest, S.C., Hal Holmes and wife, Ellen of Inman, S.C., Jon Holmes and wife, Liz of Anderson, S.C., Tim Holmes and wife, Margi of Spartanburg, S.C., and David Holmes and wife, Pam of Daingerfield, Tx.; a daughter, Rebecca Basham and husband, Richard of Greer, S.C.; eighteen grandchildren; forty great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Carter and a daughter-in-law, June Holmes. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at First Baptist North Spartanburg. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Church with Rev. Ken Casillas officiating. Interment will be in Shiloh Memorial Cemetery in Inman, S.C. In honor of Nema Holmes, memorials may be made to: Oaxaca Baptist Church with checks payable and mailed as follows: Cleveland Park Bible Church, 711 Asheville Highway, Spartanburg, S.C. 29303.
