Bio

Charles was born on a farm six miles south and 2-1/2 miles west of Altamont. He grew up on that farm. In 1906, after the death of his parents, he lived in St. Louis for a brief time and from there went to Colorado and homesteaded a ranch near Flagler. In 1914 he returned to the Altamont area. He was married to Eva Marie Stine of Edna in 1915 and they made their home on a farm a mile east of his birthplace. 3 years later they moved to the family home place. They remained there until 1948 when he retired and they moved to Oswego. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oswego and was a trustee in the church at the time of his death. He and Eva had two daughters, Mrs. Charles Carter and Mrs. Fred Holmes.
