Mrs. Antonia Coufal, age 46 years, 2 months and 2 days, died suddenly from a heart attack at her home near Bee Monday evening, October 17, at 6:30 p.m. The day she died she did all of her work and was jolly as before, and apparently in good health. She had just finished eating her supper and was crossing the room when she collapsed. Antonia Chermok was born near Brainard on August 15, 1892, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Chermok. When she attained womanhood she was united in marriage to Joe Chalupnik, who died a year after the marriage. To this union were twin boys, who died in infancy. She was later married to Frank Coufal, to which union were born five children. She leaves to mourn her loss, her beloved husband, Frank; and four children, twins Eleanor and Alice, 18; Leonard, 14, and Virgil, 13, all at home; one son, Erwin, died in infancy. She also leaves four step-children, Vernie of David City, Mrs. Joe (Frances) Sedlak of Dwight, Mrs. Bill (Barbara) Pokorny of Blencoe, Iowa, and Albin of Blencoe, Iowa; five grandchildren; also two sisters, Mrs. Anton Hladky and Miss Agnes Chermok and one brother Anton Chermok, all of David City; two step-brothers, Jim Chermok of Colorado, and Rudolph Chermok of Ulysses; two step-sisters, Mrs. Stacy Plisek of David City, and Mrs. Mary Volch of Colorado. One brother, Joe Chermok, died in 1918. Funeral services were held at St. Wenceslaus Church at Bee, Thursday, Oct. 20, at 10 a.m. Rev. M Pasourek officiated. Burial was in the Bee Catholic cemetery. Those attending the funeral from a distance were Mrs. William Pokorney and Albin Coufal of Blencoe, Iowa. Blue Valley Blade, Seward, NE, Thur, Oct 27, 1938
