'''''''''''''''''''''' The Banner-Press (David City, Nebr.), February 7, 1957, p. 2, col. 4 Frank Coufal Funeral Services Conducted January 28 At Dwight Assumption Church on Monday, Jan. 28, funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. C. Beranek for Frank Coufal, 78, a retired Dwight farmer, who died January 24 in a nursing home in Bellwood after several weeks illness. Serving as pallbearers were Edmund Soukup, Richard Sedlak of Dwight, Joe Hladky of David City, Jimmy Pokorny of Bryant, Iowa, Louis Pelan of Linwood and Joe Truska of Staplehurst. Burial was in the Dwight cemetery. Among those coming from a distance to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Louis Rehovsky and Mrs. Jim Rehovsky of Oakes, N. D., Mrs. Anton Cermak of Omaha, and Mr. and Mrs. Anton Sisel of Weston. Frank Coufal was born Dec. 19, 1878, at Abie. He is survived by three daughters, Miss Veronica Coufal of Lincoln, Mrs. William (Barbara) Pokorny of Bryant, Iowa, and Miss Eleanor Coufal of Lincoln; two sons, Albin of Columbus and Virgil of Bee; two brothers, Louis of Portland, Oregon, and Anton Coufal of Seward; and three sisters, Mrs. Julia Rehovsky of Oakes, N.D., Mrs. Rudolph (Mary) Plisek of Schuyler, and Mrs. Anna Riha of Omaha. Preceding him in death were two wives and several children.
