Bio

Alice Adeline Coufal, daughter of Frank Coufal of Bee, Nebr., passed away suddenly in her sleep Wednesday, December 24, 1941, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Vanderkolk in David City, where she has been working for the last three months. In the morning she had not been getting up as usual so Mrs. Vanderkolk went in her room and found her dead in bed. Alice was born in Brainard, Nebr., on June 20, 1920. She was 21 years, 6 months and 3 days. Her mother preceded her in death three years ago. One brother Ervin, died eleven years ago in infancy. Those to mourn her departure are her father, two brothers, Leonard and Virgil and her twin sister Eleanor, also her three half-sisters, (Barbara ), Mrs. William Pokorny of Whiting, Ia., (Frances) Mrs. Joe Sedlak of Dwight, and Vernie Coufal of David City, also one half-brother, Albin Coufal of Oakridge, Oregon. She was a member of the Young Ladies Society and a devout member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church at Bee. Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 27 from St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church at Bee. Burial was in the Catholic cemtery at Bee. The Young Ladies Society marched in a body in front of the casket. Blue Valley Blade, Seward, NE, Thur, Jan 1, 1942
