BERAN, J. K. of Thrall. Age 87. Died 10/10/1969 (Friday) at his home. Services held (Monday at 9:45 a.m.) from Condra Memorial Chapel. Followed by rites held at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Taylor. Burial in Taylor City Cemetery. Rev. Desmond Murphy and Rev. Jerry Smith officiated. Grandsons were pallbearers. He was a resident of the Thrall area since 1924. BORN 10/28/1881 in Austria, he came to the United States in 1891. He was a retired farmer and a member of St.Mary's Catholic Church, Taylor. Married 6/4/1906 to Tracy Haag. SURVIVORS: Wife, Tracy Haag Beran; 3 daughters, Mrs. Agnes Catchings, Mrs. Frances Biehle of Thorndale and Mrs. Sophie Wainwright of Longview; 7 sons, Joe, Pete, and Bill Beran of Thorndale, Tony of DeValle, Karl Beran of Taylor, Emil Beran of Thrall and Henry Beran of Longview; sister, Mrs. Julia Dietrich of Cordele; 29 grandchildren & 37 great-grandchildren.
