11/29/1923 Married; Casper Eakes, born/baptized 6/11/1888 [1898] in Topkea, KS. Son of Adam Eakes and Lena Hoefner, both in Plains, KS. Married Maria Koberlein, born/baptized 8/11/1901 in Topeka. Daughter of John Koberlein and Anna Burghart, both in Topeka. Married at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Topeka, by Rev. Francis Henry. Witness by John Eakes and Ana Koberlein. ------------------ Casper P. Eakes, 48, died Sunday morning at his home, 700 Emmett. He was born June 20, 1898 in Topeka and lived most of his life here, operating a barber shop in North Topeka for the past 19 years. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, War Dads and the Master Barber Association. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Ann Eakes of the home; six sons, Robert, Francis, Paul, Casper Junior, John and Louis, all of the home; seven daughters, Dolores Marie, Joan, Mary Louise, Barbara Ann, Eileen, Ann Jeanette and Theresa Marie, all of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Frank of Horton and Mrs. Mary Shell of Topeka; three brothers, Thomas P. Eakes and John Eakes of Topeka, George Eakes of Plains, Kan. Services will be held at 8 a.m. Wednesday at the Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The remains will lie in state at the home from 3 p.m. Monday until the time of the service. The St. Vincent De Paul Society will recite the Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Monday and the Knights of Columbus No. 2608 will recite the Rosary at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
