Funeral arrangements are pending at Brennan Funeral Home for John Peter Eakes, 61, 549 Scotland, who died Friday at a Topeka hospital. He was born Feb. 23, 1903. Before moving to Topeka, he lived at Plains in Meade County. He was a former employee of the Lux Wholesale Grocery Co. in Topeka and was a member of Assumption Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Etzel, of the home; a son, Sgt. Milton Eakes, Colorado Spring, Colo.; a brother, George Eakes, Plains, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Ann Schell, 3222 Munson.
