Graveside services for Margueritte Turman, 86, Tyler, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hawthorne Cemetery with the Rev. Joe Turman officiating under direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home, Tyler. Mrs. Turman died May 20, 2007, in a Tyler hospice. She was born Oct. 12, 1920, in Bullard to Matt and Alice Curry Stripling. She was a member of Southern Oaks Baptist Church, a graduate of Bullard High School, class of 1937, and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Jewette Carr, Jewel Miller, Marie Helms and Gladys Chin and brothers, Duell Stripling, Orth Stripling, and Jake Stripling. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Dan Turman, Tyler; son, Mike Turman, Tyler; daughters, Kay Colyer, Shreveport, La., and Kathy Hubner, Fort Worth; brothers, E.M. Stripling, Arlington, and Jerry Stripling, Bullard; twin sister, Maurine Grinnell, Rochester, N.Y.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be M'Shell Turman, Tina Foster, Kimberly Vetter, Amy Vetter, Sarah Moore and Katy Stephens. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
