Frances Folsom "Fannie" Greear was born in 1889 as a fraternal twin and youngest daughter of William M "Buck" Greear and his second wife, Sarah Bond Greear. She grew up in the area of Coeburn in Wise County and, in 1907, she married Richard Luster Pate in Bristol Tennessee. Richard and Fannie lived in the area of Banner and Crab Orchard and raised five children: Mary Roxia Lavelett "Roxie", William Banner, Charles Richard, Roger Graham and Sarah Elizabeth "Betty." Richard passed away in 1942 and was buried in the Greear Cemetery in Crab Orchard. In 1930, Roxie had married Glover P Hensley, the son of Emmett and Emma Hensley of Lee County, Virginia. Roxie and Glover eventually moved to the Elizabethton, Tennessee area. Emmett's wife Emma passed away in 1949. In 1950, Emmett Hensley and Frances Greear Pate were married in Wise County, Virginia and lived in Elizabethton. Frances Folsom Greear Pate Hensley passed away there in 1957. She was buried in the Greear Cemetery beside her first husband, Richard.
