Grand Island (Nebraska) Daily Independent January 1986 Dennis J. "Dan" Michalski, 69, of ...died Friday at home. Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Foster will officiate. Burial will be at Westlawn Cemetery... Mr. Michalski was born Dec. 27, 1916, at Loup City, the son of Walter and Elizabeth McCarville Michalski. He received his education at Loup City and Ravenna and began farming in Hall County. He married Laverna Estalene Hunt on Aug. 7, 1938, at Central City. He had lived in Lincoln for several years before returning to Grand Island in 1985. He was engaged in construction work most of his life. While in Grand Island he worked for Geer Mobile Homes as a carpenter, retiring in the early 1970's. He was a member of the Catholic faith and Eagles Aerie No. 147 in Lincoln. Survivors include five sons, Darwin...Dennis...Gary...Dale... and Bob...; eight daughters, ...Arneda..., Shirley..., Bonnie...Sharon...Donna...Carla...and Cindy...; eight grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; a brother, Edward of Grand Island; three sisters, MRs. Clarence (Claire) Starr of Moline, Ill., Mrs. Eugene (Lillian) Sullivan of Davenport, Iowa, and Mrs. Errol (Loretta) Findley of Grand Island, and three step-grandsons. He was preceded in death by a daughter and a sister.
