Loretta (Michalski) Findley, 87 October 31, 1926 ~ September 8, 2014 Loretta was born October 31, 1926 in Arcadia, Nebraska to Walter and Elizabeth Michalski and was one of six children. She grew up on a farm and lived most of her life in Grand Island, NE. She married Errol Findley on June 9, 1948. She retired in 1990 after 27 years from Hornady Manufacturing, known for making small arms ammunition, in Grand Island, NE, and moved to Mesa, AZ to be near a daughter and to enjoy warmer winters where she resided until 2007. Since that time, she has alternated her home between Beatrice, NE, and Burton, TX, living with two daughters, Linda and Pat. In May, she moved to the Good Samaritan Center in Beatrice, Nebraska. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Grand Island and Christ the King Church in Mesa, AZ. She was strong in her Catholic faith and a good volunteer in her church. She was a member of the Carmelite Order, nourished and guided by prayer. She loved to travel and never forgot her trip to the Holy Land. She delighted in playing marbles and card games with her grandchildren. She enjoyed being with friends and playing bingo. Loretta Findley left this earth surrounded by all of her living children on September 8, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, both parents, all of her brothers and sisters, and two daughters, Vicky and Susan. She is survived by daughter, Linda McCall and husband Ray of Beatrice, NE; son, Michael and wife Marlene of Salt Lake City, UT; daughter, Pat Spitzer and husband Doyle of Burton, TX; daughter, Kathy Stout and husband Mike of Oklahoma City, OK and daughter Pamela Potts and husband Bruce of Mesa, AZ. She has 19 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson and 1 great-grandson expected in October. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 am, Thursday, September 11, 2014 at the St Mary’s Cathedral, 112 S. Cedar St., Grand Island, Nebraska. Father Richard Piontkowski will lead Mass and offer words of comfort. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Cemetery, Grand Island, NE. No visitation. Cremation.
