BARRON, Maude, Mrs. (Carl W.) of Thorndale. Age 90. Died 8/15/1970. Services held (Monday) from Condra Memorial Chapel in Taylor. Burial in Taylor City Cemetery. Rev. W.A. Tober officiated. Condra Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. She was born Maude Hurt near Georgetown at Berry Creek on 4/24/1880. Married Carl W. Barron on 9/3/1903, who preceded her in death on 8/9/1969. "Mom" as she was known, was a member of the Thorndale Baptist Church. She and her late husband, a retired farmer, moved to Thorndale in 1948 from the San Gabriel Comm. where they had resided for more than 30 years. SURVIVORS: Daughter, Mrs. Zoe Cooper of Humble; 2 sons, Noel Barron of Houston and Horace Barron of Cedar Creek; brother, Jeff Hurt of Llano; 5 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
