Bio

He enlisted as a Private in the 1st North Carolina Volunteers and served a year. Then he was mustered in as a Corporal in the 11th North Carolina in March 1862. In November 1862 he was promoted to 5th Sargent. According to multiple documents, he died during the Gettysburg battle on July 1 1863.
