Bio

The Norfolk Daily News; Norfolk, Nebraska; Monday, January 9, 1984; Page 13 City Scene Tuesday rites planned for W. Carstens Services for William Carstens, 78, Norfolk, will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Norfolk. The Rev. Arnold Krugler and lay minister Frank Brink will officiate. Burial will be in New Lutheran Cemetery. Visitations were Monday from 3 to 9 p.m. at Home for Funerals. Carstens was born April 20, 1905, north of Pierce to the late Carl and Minnie Carstens. He was confirmed April 13, 1919 at St. John's Lutheran Church east of Pierce. He lived with family members all of his life. He died Jan. 7 at a Norfolk rest home. Survivors include two brothers, three sisters, Albert of Norfolk, Carl of Mesa, Ariz., Mrs. Edna Kurpgeweit and Mrs. Vinnie Vyhlidal, both of Norfolk, and Mrs. Viola Vrozek of Wichita, Kansas. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. all spelling and punctuation as it appeared in the paper. (GH)
