Edmund D. Roach Funeral services for Edmund Daniel "Ed" Roach, 86, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. Rob Tibbitts will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation is at 5-8 p.m. today and 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday. Mr. Roach died at 8:10 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002, in a local hospital. He was a native of Corpus Christi, Texas, and he had lived in Lake Charles for 52 years. He delivered newspapers for the Caller-Times in Corpus Christi, Texas, and advanced to a position in the editorial, department. He was an alumnus of George Washington University Southern Methodisi University and Corpus Christi Junior College. He was ar Army staff sergeant in the Pacific in.World, War II.,He was a retired IRS agent, and he served in the agency's Washington, D.C., Dallas and Lake Charles offices during his 35-year career. He worked until 1998 as a tax consultant with the accounting firm McElroy, Quirk & Burch. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he taught a Sunday school class for high school-age students. He was a volunteer tax consultant for the elderly. Survivors include his wife, Lena Vidrine Roach of Lake Charles; one son, Randall "Randy" Roach, of Lake Charles; one daughter, Mrs. Ray (Lynne) Hill of Lake Charles; one brother, Joseph " Jody" Roach of Los Angeles; and four grandchildren.
