Alice Cordelia Moyle was the daughter of Stephen Moyle and Alice Greenwood in Alpine. She met Thomas Alvin Whitby and married him on 06 Mar 1901. They had thirteen children: Steven Alvin Whitby, Helen McGregor, Alice Carlisle, Roy Afton Whitby, Emma Whitby , Ivan Edward Whitby , Glenn Rowe Whitby , Evelyn Jensen , May Whitby, Ray Whitby, La Verl Whitby, Cora Beth Whitby, and George Whitby. Provo Daily Herald - Friday, February 13, 1959, Provo, Utah Alice Whitby Alpine Woman Dies At 78 ALPINE - Funeral services will be held Saturday in the Alpine LDS Ward Chapel for, Alice Cordelia Moyle Whitby, 78, who died Wednesday at 11a.m. in an American Fork Hospital, following a lingering illness. She: was born Nov. 4, 1880, in Alpine, a daughter of Stephen and Alice Greenwood Moyle. She married Thomas Whitby March 6,1901, in the Salt Lake Endowment House of the LDS Church. Mr. Whitby died June 1955. She was a member of me Alpine LDS Ward. Surviving are the following sons and daughters, Stephen A. Whitby and Mrs. Oral (Helen) McGregor, Los Angeles; Roy A. Whitby, Bellflower, Calif.; Glen B. Whitby, Hanksville, Wayne County; Dr. George L. Whitby, Payson; MrsRobert (Mae) Morgan, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Robert (Evelyn) Jensen, American Fork; Ray L. Whitby and Mrs. Paul (Alice) Carlisle, Alpine; Ivan E. Anderson, California; 23 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and four sisters. Friends may call at the Paul Carlisle residence in Alpine today from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday prior to services. Burial will be in the Alpine Cemetery.
