The Phonograph, St. Paul, Howard County, Nebraska, Thursday, August 9, 1917, Vol. XXXIX, page 1, column 2. William Irvine was born in Scotland near the town of Kelso in the year 1851 (1846). He came to Howard county in 1872 and lived here about eight years, when he moved to Lincoln, that city being his home ever since. He was married in 1879 to Alice Davis. Two children were born to them of which one, Thomas, is still living. He lives at Green River, Wyo. Mr. Irvine died at Lincoln July 29, 1917, being at the time of his death 66 (71) years of age. He leaves to mourn his loss one son, Thomas, four brothers, John Irvine, Geo. Irvine, James Irvine and Henry Irvine, and one sister, Mrs. Baxter. The funeral was held from the church at Farwell and he was buried at the Oak Creek cemetery Wednesday afternoon.
