Donald D. Dahlkoetter was born August 29, 1929 on a farm east of Norfolk, Nebraska to William and Margaret (Rathman) Dahlkoetter. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from May 1951 - May 1953. In 1954 Don started Midwest Glass in Columbus with Dean Ott. In 1956 he married Mary Devine in Yankton, South Dakota. Don was a member of St. Bonaventure Church, Knights of Columbus, V.F.W. #3704 and the Elks Club. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and spending time with family.
