Born to James C. Chaney (1816-1864), who died in the Civil War, & Minerva Hopper (1823-1912), both of Arkansas, who married on Feb. 21, 1842, in Hot Springs County, Arkansas. Callie married William Henderson Adams (1841-1921) on Nov. 27, 1868, Hunt County, TX. Eight children: Ida Belle Adams Crabb (1869–1925) Mary Minerva Adams Lassiter (1869–1928) James Thomas Adams (1872–1948) John William Adams (1876–1943) Callie Ona Adams Jenkins (1880–1967) Hugh Francis Adams (1882–1957) Mattie Bell Adams Stephen (1885–1967) Tillman Charley Adams (1887–1961) Callie was drawing a Confederate pension at her death, application #37805. She was living with their son Hugh Francis Adams In Iredell when she passed away.
