Clifford Shipman, 89, of Nampa, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, at his home. Clifford Allen Shipman Clifford passed away Wednesday December 6th at the age of 89. He passed quietly at home, surrounded by his loving family. He's now sleeping in Heavenly Peace after a long battle with cancer. Clifford was born in February 1928 in Guide Rock Nebraska, one of 6 children to Elwin and Ruth Shipman. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters Viola and Jean; brother Keith; daughter Cindy Bond and grand daughter Katina Dockstader. After graduating high school, Clifford joined the US Navy, serving in WWII. In 1947, he married the LOVE of his life, Leta Buster. Clifford was a Master of many trades in his lifetime, from owning and operating many grocery stores, cattle ranching, to custom home building. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and master at gardening. He has been an amazing father and grandfather, passing on his vast knowledge and experiences to all of his kids and grandkids. Clifford is survived by his loving wife of over 70 years, Leta (Buster) Shipman; brother, Gerald; sisters Ardis and Beverly; son, Tim Shipman of Bridgeport Nebraska; daughters Kathy & (Nick) Pickle of Roseburg Oregon; Shelly & (Rich) Cunningham of Nampa Idaho, 13 wonderful grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, nieces, nephews and their wonderful families and many other loving family members. He lived an amazing life, that had a dramatic impact on everyone he befriended. He was an inspirational mentor to all of his children and grandchildren, ensuring all were able to live successful, fulfilling lives. He was always ready and willing to help anyone in need, without hesitation. He is fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of meeting him and will be greatly missed. At Clifford's request, there will be no funeral or memorial. His remains will be buried at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, with full military honors.
