Bio
Jay was born in Anderson Co, TX to Jessie Jasper and Mary Carmel Killion Ferguson. His parents are buried in Ferguson Cemetery. He shares a stone with Edna Ann Camp Ferguson who he married 12 July 1905 in Anderson County. Their son, Jesse Vernon Ferguson, and their daughters, Iva Ferguson Boatwright, Luna Franklin Ferguson Brumley, Zadie Lee Ferguson and Maggie Vernice Ferguson Stacks, are also buried in Ferguson Cemetery. Jay was a retired farmer at the time of his death in Palestine, TX. Wh was survived by his wife; one son, Enis Andrew Ferguson of Houston; four daughters, Mary Ardell Ferguson Bowman of Rusk, Luna Ferguson Brumley, of Houston; Iva Pearl Ferguson Wilkes and Maggie Vernice Ferguson Stacks, both of Palestine; two brothers, Martin Ferguson of Tuscola and Dave Ferguson of Kerrville; 24 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren. His obituary was published in Palestine Herald-Press, Monday, 17 June 1963.
